Hard Peach Iced Tea FAQs

Can I prepare this ahead of time?

Yes, mix it a few hours early and chill until serving time.

What’s the history of iced tea?

Tea has a rich history, and sweet iced tea is no exception. Tea arrived in the US in the 1700s, and early iced tea recipes often included alcohol, like Regent’s Punch made with green tea, sugar, cream, and claret or champagne. The first recorded sweet tea recipe using green tea appeared in 1879, followed by a black tea version in 1904. During Prohibition, when alcohol was banned, sweet iced tea soared in popularity, becoming a staple in Southern cookbooks.
